My freshman year of high school I was a shy girl in a new school. Growing up with a love of music I joined the marching band. (Yes, go ahead and cue all the "band camp" jokes). Somewhere along the line I took the volunteer position of Band Historian and became responsible for documenting the band during my tenure. It fueled my passion for capturing the real life moments, the stories as they unfold, and the memories that would otherwise be forgotten.
Fast forward a few years and we have left high school marching band in the rearview mirror! However, my love of music and photography has definitely remained and I am incredibly blessed to do this thing that I love in the place that I love.

It was your classic boy meets girl story...only, it happened in a business networking meeting.
He's a lawyer, she's a photographer. And at 9:10am on 9/10/16 David and I forever joined logic and creativity in a small ceremony on the water in Hampton, VA, and we've been having all the adventures ever since!

God has immensely blessed us and within 18 months (and 6 days) of each other, we welcomed our daughter, Saithe-Elizabeth and our son, Hunter into our family.
Our children are our greatest blessing, and we love Friday movie nights, traveling together, and camping out under the stars.

This life is not just about us. I believe everyone has a story to tell, and your story is important! We were all given the gift of this life for a purpose, and part of my purpose is to help you tell your story through beautiful photographs of your current season of life.
Legacy is one of my great motivators and it is so important to me to make sure we're leaving something beautiful for the generations to follow.

Imagine with me for a moment. It's the day of your family session. The kids have been a mess all day, your husband asks if we really have to do this TODAY of all the days. But you muster all the grace possible, push through, get everyone dressed and out the door and arrive at your chosen location. The weather is beautiful, the air is calm, and you feel the slightest possibility of peace. We say our hellos and ease into our session - I say again that our time together is all about you, your family, and the season you're in. You feel the stress melting away knowing that you don't have to make any decisions or keep anyone in line, that's my job. You are free to relax and simply enjoy being with your family!
Leaving the session, you all pile into the car, and that's when it happens. Your husband looks over, smiles, and says, "I'm so glad we did that today. That was actually fun."

My goal for your family session is to showcase your family as you are in the season you're in - chaos and all! I wholeheartedly believe that children are a gift from God, but there's no denying they can be crazy and push exactly the right buttons at the wrong time! As a momma of two I understand how stressful it can feel on any given day to manage all the chaos happening in your home. When you show up for your session I want you to leave all that stress in the car and simply enjoy being with your family. Let me take care of making sure everyone looks put together and is having a good time.
