My favorite sessions are very quickly becoming first birthday cake smash sessions. Especially when we can combine them with a sweet family session on a Saturday morning in a beautiful location! Truly, I feel like I could have a session at Fort Monroe every weekend and never get tired of shooting there, and this pink cake smash session was no exception!
I’ve known Gabby for a few years, but this was my first chance to meet the rest of her crew. Gabby, they are as awesome as you say! We met bright and early last Saturday. Gabby told me when we met that the baby didn’t sleep and the shirts they ordered had arrived the wrong color. I told her not to worry – the day was going to be great. And you know what? It was even better than great! We could not have asked for better weather, especially given that it started raining about an hour after we parted ways. The time flew by and we had a blast hanging out, climbing the tree, and watching Mallie enjoy smashing her cake!
I’m an only child, which means growing up I never really understood that special “sibling love.” Watching how gentle and caring Logan is with Mallie, and in turn seeing her face light up when she looks at him, it’s impossible not to see the special bond those two share. They are each other’s favorite person. Just wait until you see when Logan jumped in to share Mallie’s cake 🙂
Gabby and Gavin, I cannot thank you enough for getting up early on very little sleep and spending your morning with me! I hope you had as much fun as I did! Enjoy your little girl’s pink cake smash photos!
