It is so much fun when your friend’s kids turn one! The first year marks such a special milestone for both babies and parents. I love that Abby and Ryan asked me to come document this little boy’s blue cake smash! I’ve had the opportunity to watch Jack grow over the last year and he is such a sweetheart. Just wait until you see his eyelashes!

It was a chilly one, but we had a great time together. And the light in Jack’s backyard was incredible!! Abby put together some beautifully simple and timeless decorations for our shoot with the handmade banner and O N E letters. I love when my clients bring fun details to their shoots to showcase their personalities, and this one was no exception. Fun fact, that wooden crate was borrowed from another friend of ours, you can also see it featured in Bella’s cake smash over the summer!

I love getting families in front of my camera multiple times because I feel that I have the opportunity to grow with the family. Last year I got to photograph Jack’s newborn session and getting him back in front of my camera a year later was the best! At first Jack was not a huge fan of his cake, I think he was too distracted by the fun colored sprinkles on top.

Abby and Ryan, thank you for sharing your sweet boy with me yet again! I am honored to be a part of these big moments for your family. This is such a special time in your lives and I am so excited to see all God has in store for Jack.
