I just want to start out by saying “rain” can absolutely be a dirty word. Keep that in mind as we continue.
Extended family sessions are so special, and I take it as a high honor when a family trusts me to capture their ENTIRE family! It can be difficult to coordinate so many schedules, especially when some members of the family live out of town or state. It’s clear that the families who book extended family sessions are serious about their photos, and often they are centered around a special occasion or anniversary.
This was exactly the case for the Whitlocks. Ross and Lois are celebrating 40 years of marriage this year, and their kids wanted to celebrate with photos! With one sibling living out of town and another out of state, we had exactly one day for our shoot! And that one day happened to fall in the middle of a huge competition out of town for Lois and Palm Sunday. Lois is the best school music teacher around, and Ross is the music director for our church. You can imagine this was a very busy weekend for them already!
On top of the schedules, the forecast was not looking good. Remember how I said rain is a dirty word? There was a 95% chance of rain the day of the photos! Rescheduling was not an option, but prayer definitely was. We got everyone involved praying for the weather. God was so faithful and the rain stopped about two hours before we met! The ground was wet but we had the biggest smiles.
Dear Whitlock family, thank you so much for trusting me to capture this time for your family! Ross and Lois, congratulations on 40 years! You have built a legacy of love, and it is amazing.
